Expanding Access to Advanced Imaging for Pathologists Worldwide
Equapath connects hospitals and diagnostic laboratories with trusted organizations that offer advanced AI-driven tissue analysis. We act as a bridge that helps pathologists in underserved and resource-limited settings access tools, data, and collaborations that are often out of reach.
By linking standard H&E slide data to established AI partners, Equapath enables clinicians to uncover deeper tumor and immune insights without requiring expensive infrastructure or on-site molecular testing.
This platform enables equitable access, improves collaboration between labs and AI innovators, and helps to ensure that every pathologist, anywhere in the world, can benefit from next-generation analytics.

Equapath connects pathologists in underserved and resource-limited communities with trusted organizations that provide advanced AI-based tissue and biomarker analysis.
Our role is to help community and rural pathologists access the same level of digital and spatial tools available in leading research and academic centers.
By bridging this gap, Equapath empowers local labs to deliver faster, data-driven insights, improving diagnostic precision and patient care, regardless of geography or resources.
Collaborative Access
Equapath enables researchers in oncology and pathology to collaborate with global partners and access high-quality spatial imaging analysis from diverse populations.
Through our network, researchers can expand their studies beyond traditional academic hubs. We support academic and clinical investigators with access to advanced image analysis, AI-powered biomarker quantification, and spatial mapping of the tumor microenvironment (TME), accelerating discovery and making research more inclusive and impactful.
Equapath empowers clinicians and researchers to see what others miss — anywhere, anytime.
By transforming standard H&E slides into molecularly rich, AI-driven insights, Equapath makes precision pathology faster, more affordable, and more accessible for every community.
It all begins with access
The story of Equapath began with a simple question: What if advanced pathology could reach every corner of the world? After two years of research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, our founder saw firsthand how AI and digital pathology could uncover patterns invisible to the human eye — but also how many hospitals and labs lacked access to these transformative tools.
That experience led to the creation of Equapath, a nonprofit initiative designed to democratize computational pathology. By partnering with PredxBio, we developed a secure, cloud-based platform that allows hospitals, academic labs, and clinicians to upload routine pathology images and receive AI-powered biomarker insights in minutes — not days.
Equapath’s mission is to bridge the gap between advanced diagnostics and underserved regions by combining the power of AI, pathology, and global collaboration. We believe that cutting-edge analysis should not depend on geography or infrastructure. Every image holds potential — and every patient deserves the chance for early, precise diagnosis.
We envision a world where no lab is left behind — where every slide tells a deeper story, and where digital insight drives better treatment decisions, faster drug development, and more equitable healthcare outcomes worldwide.

Reina Majumdar is a senior at Lansdale Catholic High School in Pennsylvania whose interests lie at the intersection of computing, biology, and community impact. Through two summer research internships at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, she explored how AI and data science can uncover biological insights—studying the effects of BAP1 mutations on mesothelioma survival and analyzing gene-expression changes after heart attacks. These experiences inspired her to found Equapath, an early-stage venture connecting AI-powered pathology research with underserved healthcare communities.

AegisCare was founded by Dr. Aman Khera, a third-generation physician with over 25 years of experience in healthcare, driven by a belief that care should be equitable, affordable, and accessible for all. After decades of practice, he witnessed firsthand how India’s elderly often struggled to navigate hospitals alone or avoided care due to cost and complexity. Inspired to change this, he launched AegisCare—a technology-enabled eldercare platform that blends compassion with innovation. By leveraging his nationwide medical network, Dr. Khera is building a system that offers affordable preventive care, remote monitoring, and peace of mind for families worldwide.
